The Sangha is a community of practitioners of the Dharma, a family on the Path, sharing the same direction - to live and practice mindfulness, attain our true selves and help this world. The Sangha includes all kind of people, and does not allow discrimination of gender, color, ethnic background, educational status or age group. Those who wish to be part of the Sangha can be from any walk of life.

Kwan Um School of Zen Sangha in Europe counts about 500 paying members and few more hundreds of non-paying practitioners.

The Sangha is like a flower - each petal of the flower is essential for its growth, beauty and stability. Each member of our Sangha is just equally important.

BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE SANGHA FAMILY

Everyone who wishes to practice and support the Sangha can become a member of the Kwan Um School of Zen. When you become a member of this School, you not only become part of the Sangha, but you demonstrate your support for the Sangha. In addition, you receive the benefits, such as discounts for events (retreats) and various support from the Sangha and the School.

Becoming a member of the KUSZ requires paying the membership fee regularly (preferably monthly, semiannually or annually). Every member can decide to which Zen Center or Group he or she wants to pay membership fee. No matter which European center you pay your membership fee to, you get the retreat discount in all KUSZE retreats in Europe.

Membership fees may vary from place to place in our School. But, wherever you pay your membership fee, it is your sincere giving energy, your "How may I help you?" mind what matters.

By becoming a member of KUSZ at Won Kwang Sa you receive discount for each retreat of the Kwan Um School of Zen.

Those who pay "Supporting Membership" can stay at Won Kwang Sa outside the usual retreats for free (the daily fee is 5 EUR).

All paying members at Won Kwang Sa Temple are listed on our list of donors and we chant Kwan Seum Bosal for all of them.

IN-KIND SUPPORT

Won Kwang Sa Temple is a place which serves all beings. At the same time, it can only exist by virtue of the help extended by the Sangha. The temple is not-for-profit organization; its operational needs are covered by donations. These can be even the most simple of offering: food, construction material, flowers for the altar, fuel, firewood, etc...

If you wish to support our temple by in-kind donations, in a way that excludes financial transfers and instruments, please contact our temple office to coordinate your intentions with our needs.
