Basic Information
What is Kyol Che
Winter Kyol Che is a 90-day intensive meditation retreat.
Originally, it happened once a year in the Buddha’s lifetime during the summer monsoon, and since Pai Chang Zen Master introduced the second, winter retreat during the Tang Dynasty, Zen monks and nuns used to sit twice 90 days per year, without entering or leaving during the
retreat.
Zen Master Seung Sahn opened the gates of Zen Halls before lay people and allowed part time participation, thus you can also join the historic effort shared by many people to attain clear mind and help this world. You may participate from minimum of 1 week up to 3 months in weekly increments.
