Ceremonies

Won Kwang Sa Temple offers ceremonies for families as well as for the entire Sangha.

Family ceremonies include:

• Wedding Ceremony
• Funeral or Memorial Services
• 100-day Baby Ceremony

These ceremonies are available to anyone; you do not need to be a member of the Kwan Um School of Zen. You only need to contact the temple office and arrange the details of your ceremony. Each ceremony has a form, but there is always space to adjust according to your situation.

Sangha-wide ceremonies include:

• Buddha’s Birthday (near April 8 each year)
• Buddha’s Enlightenment Day (near December 8 each year)
• Precepts Ceremonies
• Inka Ceremonies
• Transmission Ceremonies

Everyone is welcome to these events, and people directly involved in these events often invite family or friends as guests.

It is customary to give a donation both to the temple and to the person performing the ceremony.
